ART: Watercolors

 Watercolor Techniques and Practice Paintings

We did samplers using 6 sections: 1-cool colors/wet on wet  2-warm colors/ wet on dry  3-analagous colors  4-salt or rubbing alcohol on paint  5-mask off an area using masking fluid, tape or wax resist  6-artists choice. They could use any versions of the colors. I encouraged them to mix their own versions of the colors. They could create tints (by adding white) or shades (by adding black) or dull them down by adding complimentary colors. We had some great variety. 😃

For the paintings they could choose any subject,  but they had to include layers or foreground, middle ground, and background. I let them trace the sketch this time if they wanted (most didn't) because I was more concerned with them learning the painting process.
