SHAPE: when the ends of a continuous line meet, a shape is formed.

GEOMETRIC: have perfect, uniform measurements, can be based off of a math formula, and don't often appear in nature
ORGANIC: (free-form) associated with things from the natural world, like plants, clouds, and animals
